Finally here it is for you all: my first SDK synth plug-in.

Thanks to all the kind people who help me in any way to set this one up and running and especially:
- Neutron for his “public” project which help me much to understand synth construction under scope SDK
- ShroomZ for his smart GUI elements
- all the people who were so kind to beta test it for me and especially
- my french speaking friends from MaoMusique (JoyLulu, CWAudio, Gustav and Reidid other there) and provide me a first bunch of presets (52 until now which would be released other there as soosn as I get a full 128 presets)
- irrelevance, hifiboom, Johannis, scope4live, breitner and JLS who tested it and provide me a second bunch of preset (30 until now provided by Breitner and JLS). The feedback I had so far just gave me more hints on how to enhance the plug. I finally decide that it would not be further modified to keep preset compatibility and take the enhancement request for one of the next plug (maybe an advanced version of the OSS 107).

Not that much new but thought to be remote with a hardware midi BCR 2000 controller (other could also work, template provided for both BCR 2000 and BCF 2000).

This one is just designed to be a small and simple not so DSP hungry analog like synth.

In the package you will find:
- my first set of presets for this plug (a 58 preset bank)
- a manual in english and french.
- BCR 2000 and BCF 2000 templates

Merry ChristmaZ to you all

CheerZ

CAN CONTROL v1.0 - Crossfeed EQ headphone monitoring aid

Thanks to all the beta testers for your time & for the high level of feedback. The only significant change since the last beta release is the addition of separate L & R input mutes for setting up the device. These mutes are not included in presets because they don’t need to be.

Please feel free to share your presets here since I’ve opted to release it without any, but be aware that when using someone’s preset, you may well have to tweak the device to your own preference even if using the same monitor speakers & cans/phones as they are. That shouldn’t be an issue though, as you’ll need to set the device up for yourself anyway whether starting from a preset or not.

Cheers,
~Mark

Quick Start Guide :-

- Connect CAN CONTROL in line before your headphone monitoring output.

Turn the CAN CONTROL master volume level down low.

Play some music. Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark side of the moon’ is a good example of music that benefits from crossfeed, but there are many others (most infact).

Turn the master volume back up to a listening level that you’re happy with.

Mute the left (L) or right (R) hand side with the mute buttons at the top corners of the green window so that you’re only listening to one side.

Switch on & off the crossfeed with the round black button labeled ‘X’ or by clicking the x-feed on/off switches in the green window.

Play with the ‘High Loss F’ (frequency) and ‘High Loss G’ (gain) & ‘Delay’ parameters to adjust to your own head for a sound coming at an angle in front which sounds as close as possible to what you hear from your monitor speaker on that side instead of inside your head like you would normally hear on your headphones (especially closed back types). You won’t hear any difference with a mono record, but for sounds recorded only on one channel & in between, you should get a significant effect that gives a sense of some extra space.

Adjust the crossfeed gain (X Gain) and left/right gain (LR Gain) parameters if necessary.

Switch the muted channel back on, so that you’re now listening to both left and right hand sides.

Adjust master EQ section parameters if necessary. You may find the need to cut bass frequencies between 250-500Hz by 1 to 2dB using the Low Shelf, but in some cases you may not! It’s a balance of what you’re monitoring & personal taste.

Use your ears and some trial & error adjusting and listening to different types of music, saving yourself some presets with settings you’re happy with as you go.

If you wish to get technical in setting up CAN CONTROL you can follow some of the procedures above using sine waves or filtered pink noise, but you have to submit pictures to this thread of you wearing your lab coat.

That should be enough to get you started. When I have time I’ll write something more in-depth if there’s a demand.

~Mark

some of you might remember an 8-channel mixer I made for using within the Creamware modular called Octamix. Well this is the Scope edition for using standalone in the scope Routing Window.

OCTAMIX is a very simple 8 channel mixer which is very low on dsp usage (<1). It has many of the features that you would expect to find on a small traditional 8 channel analogue desk, although it does have a few features which are quite unique to Scope. It provides some of the features found on larger Scope mixers enabling some simple mixing facilities with low dsp cost.

Features:-

- 8 mono channels
- 2 mono inserts per channel
- Pre & post insert clip leds per channel
- 2 Aux sends per channel (pre/post switchable)
- 0-200 sample delay per channel
- Solo & mute buttons per channel
- Channel labelling
- 2 x stereo returns (each with 3 x stereo insert & VU)
- Main mix channel (with 3 x stereo insert & VU)
- Stereo input with gain control.
- Monitor output with gain control.
- Aux panel switchable between Int (2 x insert each) & external (ext).
- Meterbridge featuring post pan VUs for channels 1-8 & STin & Monitor VUs.
- Less than one DSP usage (not counting inserted effects).

I might update this at some point soon because it was made a while back, so let me know if you find any problems etc.

Hope you find it useful.

cheers,
(don’t forget to set the correct tempo of the Reloopah device)
-controls:
–slice controls 1-16 – select the position of the slice you want. the red are the default positions
–output 1-16 (below) – the device has two pairs of outputs; select the slice output here – green=out1(default), red=out2
–dezip settings: default settings should work in most situations; if the loop contains much harmonic content, try to change/increase dezipNWRelease (default 300)
–sliceScaling: decrease slice length. when used, a gate effect is achieved; use dezipNWrelease to avoid clicks
–snap 1-18: buffers which include slice positions, dezip, sliceScaling settings.
–randomize: when first used, slice positions are initialized=all on pos.1; press again to get random slice positions
–preset list just for slice positions, dezip, sliceScaling settings

Thanks to pixelbites. This looks really better than anything else.
For contributions (as asked for in the other love-thread) please pm me and of course pixelbites. I see donations not related to my work with sdk, but to my “artwork” as a whole and I ask nobody to give me money for my devices.

VERSION 1.2 with a widener version . Sorry, the DSP knobs were set in the wrong order in version 1.0 & 1.1.
Like a chorus for certain frequencies. Try it with a delay in the insert, it’s fantastic.

JIMMY’s request:
Version 1.3 now with better preset handling… (saves presets location in projects) To be honest, I did not really work with SDK for some time, so I hope I (quickly) did everything right.
B.t.w. is that midi-controller-handling-problem finally adressed by someone, … ?

version 2.0beta
Sorry, but I have to say that all 1.x versions were crap It was one of my old devices where I still had to learn a lot.
Much more is possible with version 2.0beta. Shroomz will kill me because of the additional knobs… It would have been possible somehow to avoid them, but as you know I like tweaking …

I think it remembers now all ccs in project. Fatter sounds are possible. I have an idea for 3.0 but don’t know if it will be better – rather a different device.
